Lens Treatments FAQs
Many lenses today made of polycarbonate materials already have scratch-resistant features built in. However, most lenses are made of a resin known as CR-39, which doesn’t automatically include any lens coatings, so if scratch-resistance is important to you, ask your optician to confirm you are purchasing the right lenses for your lifestyle.
If you wear glasses you already understand the frustration of seeing your lenses fog up as soon as you step inside from the cold. Small water droplets fog up your lenses when the surrounding temperatures are warmer than the lenses. Anti-fog coatings help prevent lenses from becoming cloudy no matter the weather.
Even the best lens treatment can’t 100% guarantee that your lenses will never be scratched. However, the higher the quality of the coating, the better the protection.

Dr Middleton examined my vision early May 2026, wrote a new prescription and the prescription was fi... Show Morelled at Total Eye Care BUT my vision was blurry with the new lenses, i began complaining. Doc was out on vacation when I returned addressing the problem when Total Eye elected to do the exam completely over again discovering that the new lens were made of cheap material and the exam was identical to what
Dr Middleton had prescribed. Dr Middleton has examined my eyes for twenty years at the request of Dr George E. Halladay, MD who trained Dr Middleton’s previous employer Dr Lawerance Shafron, MD. Dr Halladay, has now went on that Great Exam Room in the sky but Dr Middleton carries on the same and exact level of professionalism, the integrity, the expertise and the happy -Go- luck additude of all that came before him. Dr May was also instructmental in the “complete
re-examination” she needed to verify that
Dr Middleton’s prescription was accurate and correct, which it was.
On this day 4th July 2026 it’s a blessing as an American knowing we have medical attention readily available with such high ethics and professionalism
